WHAT IS MY CANDLE MADE OF?
Every ReCoopMN candle is made from American grown soy beans, a blend of fragrance oils, and a cotton wick for an extra, long-lasting burn.
WHY SOY WAX?
Because it is a healthier and cleaner option compared to paraffin wax! It is a natural, plant based option that is biodegradable. It does not contain toxins like paraffin wax such as petrol-soot that will damage the interior of your home. Soy wax has a longer lasting burn than other wax options, which means you get more out of your purchase!
The best part of soy wax is that is is derived from a renewable source, which is produced domestically from many Midwestern farms, which means you are supporting other local farmers!
HOW LONG SHOULD I BURN MY CANDLE?
When you first light your candle, you should let it burn long enough to allow the melted wax to reach all edges of the mason jar. This takes about 2-4 hours to achieve and prevents tunneling (often times you will experience this with candles bought from various big-box stores).
Soy wax has a memory burn. To achieve a full memory burn, allow the candle to melt completely to the edges of the jar. This will also prevent the tunneling effect.
After the first burn, it is recommended to not let your candle burn any longer than 4 hours to get the maximum quality out of your candle!
DO I REALLY NEED TO TRIM THE WICK OF MY CANDLE?
Yes, this is so important! It is recommended to trim your wick to 1/4" before lighting your candle each time. This keeps your candle burning and smelling awesome! Not to mention, your candle will last longer!
To keep your jar looking pretty, trimming the wick will prevent the candle from smoking and producing a large flame, which could lead to soot around the glass of the mason jar.
Please discard the trimmed wick from the candle into the trash (when cooled of course) to prevent the possibility catching fire.
IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE TO CANDLES?
Yes! We also sell a variety of wax melts. These are a perfect alternative to candles if you want to enjoy the benefits of a wonderful fragrance, but do not want to worry about a flame. These are especially great if you have little ones running around or pets. Worry free!
HOW LONG DO THE WAX MELTS LAST?
This depends on the fragrance, as some are stronger than others. Regardless, we recommend changing out your melted cubes at least once a week for maximum freshness throughout your home!
